Irma
Anderson, RN
Chair
Anderson is a retired registered nurse with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Cornell University and a Masters in Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley. She started her career in Boston at Boston University Hospital as Assistant Nursing Director and Clinical Nursing Instructor. Anderson later moved to California where she spent
29 years of her career with Contra Costa County as a staff public health nurse for the County Public Health Department, and later advanced to Director of Public Health Nursing. Anderson served as mayor for the City of Richmond, California, between 2001 and 2006. As Mayor of the City of Richmond, she helped save the City from financial disaster by making difficult decisions to change management and reduce the city's operating expenses, which saved the City from bankruptcy.
Eric
Zell
Vice Chair
Director Zell is a specialist in public policy, governmental
relations and political strategy. He provides a range of services
that develop creative solutions to complex and sensitive public
policy and political issues facing both local governments and
businesses. Director Zell served for seven years as local Chief-of-Staff
to State Assemblyman Bob Campbell. He also
serves on the Contra Costa College Foundation and the Richmond Children's
Foundation
boards. Eric received his B.A.
degree in Political Science from UCLA.
Beverly
Wallace
Treasurer
Director Wallace is a native of West County and a retired 40-year employee of Brookside Hospital, with firsthand knowledge of the many changes in the healthcare field. She is a Senior Advocate who actively participates in other organizations and strives to improve community health and wellness.
She is a strong supporter of accessible, affordable and quality healthcare for all.
Deborah
Campbell, RN
Secretary
Director Campbell is a 35-year registered nurse specializing
in ER, trauma, and critical care. She is 18-year resident of
Hercules and was elected to the Board in 2000. She is a community
activist and patient advocate promoting accountability, equal
access to healthcare and single universal healthcare. She is
a member of the CNA leadership team and is presently working
with the County EMS to improve and develop 1st response (ALS)
to all 911 calls.
Nancy
Casazza, RN
Assistant Secretary
Director Casazza, a 20-year resident of Contra Costa County,
is a registered nurse specializing in ER & ICU. A healthcare
activist, Director Casazza was elected to the Board in 2000
and strives for equitable, accessible healthcare for everyone.
While on the Board, she has promoted community outreach, seismic
safety of the hospital, and disaster preparedness.
